JEAN GENIE CUSTOM VINTAGE LEVI’S
If you are like me and love a great pair of jeans, you know the ones that make your butt look amazing, your go-to feel good jeans. Then here’s a style tip, tailor your jeans. My friends always ask where I get my jeans because the fit is right on and the wash is great. I love vintage jeans, specifically 517 Vintage Levi’s because of the high rise and slight opening at hem. As a matter of fact, Valentino Spring 2021 just collaborated with Levi’s using only 517.
I travel to Cassidy because of the amazing curated selection of Made in America Vintage Levi’s. As I shop for the best pair of jeans the feeling is about ease and comfort, no sales pitch, no pressure, actually quite intimate and inviting with great music playing in the background. It’s just her and I hanging out like old friends having fun shopping.
Cassidy fits the jean with me, she is a perfectionist at achieving the best fit, but most importantly making her clients happy.

I asked Cassidy how she started with vintage. She tells me early on she loved vintage because of the unique component, no one else would have the same piece, evoking a special spirit and appreciation. Cassidy developed a love for vintage Levi’s because of the fit, rigid quality, and Made in America craftsmanship. Her favorite fit 501’s because of the Americana heritage and originality they represent. She began tailoring for herself, her friends quickly took note. Naturally Cassidy started custom tailoring her friend’s jeans, word of mouth grew from San Diego to L.A and Jean Genie was born.
I wanted to know her favorite shop and eatery in San Diego. Her go-to spots are Sea Hive an indoor flea market filled with vintage goodies and Captain’s Helm. Umi is her favorite Japanese restaurant because its delicious, low key and unpretentious. Just like she is beautiful, low key, and unpretentious.
